 Information
All Girl Slam 
(WoWPS Qualifier)
Slam Format and Rules: There will be four rounds consisting of a one minute, a four minute, a two minute and a three minute poem.  
      -After the second round low scoring poet(s) will be eliminated 
      -Top cumulative scores from first and second round will advance
      -After the third round low scoring Poet(s) will be eliminated 
      -Top cumulative scores from the first, second and third round will advance
      -The poet with the top cumulative score wins
The number of poets eliminated will be determined before the slam begins. In the event of a tie for first place only, poets shall perform one additional poem for the tie breaker. After all poets perform, the judges can vote for only one poet. PSI rules will apply. 

Dallas Poetry Slam will cover the iWPs registration fee and facilitate one fund raiser/feature to assist with expenses. The winner is expected to cover their own expenses such as travel, lodging and other incidentals. 

Note: One can still participate in the iWPS by entering as a Storm poet during open registration. For more information, log on to www.poetryslam.com.

$100 Hail Mary Slam​
Slam Format and Rules:   
                                               (Three rounds) (3min poems)
First round
- Random draw for order
- Top six will advance
Second round 
- Reverse order
- Top three cumulative scoring poets will advance
Third and final round -  The Hail Mary! 
- Clean slate for all poets in this round (all scores go back to zero) One name of the eliminated poets from rounds one and two will be chosen from the hat. This poet gets to replace one of the top three poets in the final round for a chance to win.
Note:  Ties between poets shall be broken first by total score for that round and if necessary the score from the preceding round. If applicable (only for first place) a head to head 3 minute poem may be used to break a tie. Standard PSI Rules apply.

Poet information:
To participate in the Rookie Slam, a poet cannot have performed on the National level with a slam team or as an individual (at PSI’s NPS, iWPS or WoWPS or Brave New Voices) and pay the 
$10 fee to compete.                        Slam format:
                              - Three rounds (3min poems)
                              - Random draw each round cumulative scores first two rounds
                              - Poets will be eliminated each round 
                              - Clean slate for all poets in the final round (all scores go back to zero)
                              - Top three scoring poets after the final round win prizes
                                       1st $150, 2nd $100, 3rd $50
Note: Ties between poets shall be broken first by total score for that round and if necessary the score from the preceding round shall be used. If applicable a head to head one minute poem may be use to break a final round tie. PSI Rules apply for all other aspects of this slam.
